WR Refrigeration Launches New Manufacturing Facility and Streamlines Management Structure

WR Refrigeration, the UK's leading refrigeration contractor, is establishing a state-of-the-art UK manufacturing facility.

The new operation, based in South Wales, will specialise in the production of high efficiency refrigeration plant for supermarkets and commercial applications.

The development follows the recent opening by the company of its European CO2 Refrigeration Academy, based at Minworth in Birmingham, as a centre of excellence for engineer training and the development of carbon dioxide-based retail cooling systems.

Patrick Mullins, WR Refrigeration's Business Development & Marketing Director, said: "Demand for high quality, sustainable refrigeration systems is rising.  End users are looking for high integrity systems, engineered for reliability and based on environmentally friendly refrigerants."

He added: "The CO2 training academy and new manufacturing plant support our business strategy of developing new and promising areas of technology for the future.  It is an exciting development with great potential."

Meanwhile, in a separate development, WR Refrigeration has put in place a new management structure.  As part of this, Hugh Cole has left the business after three years' service.

The company will be headed by Hannu Saastamoinen, CEO of parent company Huurre Group, with day-to-day responsibility for the business in the hands of WR Refrigeration's existing senior management team, based at Thurmaston, Leicester.

Patrick Mullins said: "It is very much business as usual - the experienced team at WR is focused on developing and expanding our technology offering, and further enhancing our service to customers."
