The Company

WR Refrigeration’s origins date back to the early part of the last century when Thomas Herbert Wathes started a small engineering business in Leicester. WR specialise in all major projects that involve the design, installation, service and maintenance of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

Following a restructuring in the late 1990’s to meet clients’ changing demands for the future, Wathes Refrigeration became WR Refrigeration, and emerged as the UK’s leading refrigeration and air-conditioning contractor.

Now part of Huurre Group and with the head office based in Thurmaston, Leicester, the company has a national network of service branches in the UK offering an unrivalled national coverage and with a turnover exceeding £60 million.

The company’s business activities are diverse. We primarily serve the following markets:

• Multiple Retailers and Wholesalers
• Foodservice Industry
• Food Processing Industry
• Dairy Industry
• Fruit and Vegetable Producers and Growers
• Convenience food sector
• Petrol forecourts

However, we also work in other areas, for example hospitals and laboratories. In all market sectors WR specialise in major projects for those that involve the design, installation, service and maintenance of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
